Sapphire Vapor-X 5870 reviews

Looks like they were able to drop the Idle and Load temperatures considerably! I am surprised though that Hardwarecanucks said their card had really limited OC headroom, wonder what is holding it back if it's not temperatures.

Also how do these coolers affect the OC of your CPU since more heat from the GPU stays inside the case?

About nil I'd bet. My 4890 OC'd didnt raise my ambient temps by even 1 degree when I switched from stock cooler to an accelero

Great, so when will you be able to purchase this card..or any of them for that matter?

The supply problems are getting "old".

The card have nice cooling performance when running just 1 card, no doubt, but i want to know how they perform in a crossfire configuration..

I like the low power usage from the new cards. But the 128 bit bus i really don't get and it just doesn't make sense.

Huh? HD5870 = 256bit bus. Doesn't matter if stock or 3rd party cooling.

Anyway, nice card.

I'm talking about the lower end cards. The 57XX series ones. Even 256bit bus on the higher ends does either. Heck we are in the 512bit bus for a long while now.

I am asking why is ati going backwards with the 128/256 bit bus.

Having a 256-bit bus isn't a disadvantage if you have fast GDDR5 memory...which the ATI cards do. In fact there are a lot of advantages such as lower cost and lesser PCB complexity.
