Sapphire Ultimate X1950 Pro problems

So I got the Ultimate version of the X1950 Pro (the one with prefitted Zalman) card just now, but problems problems.

I slided the card in to its slot, hooked up the 6pin pci-e cable, and fired up my computer. Aaand no signal. The card was properly seated, as was the power cable. The Zalman fan is working as well. So I was a bit baffled.

I should also mention that one of the screws that holds the Zalman contraption in its place was broken. Could the broken screw be the culprit? I mean, it seemed that the sink was well in its place, but could it be that it wasn't and the card overheated instantly? It sounds unlikely to me, but I'm not too familiar with gfx card overheating.

Well anyway, when I took the card out and plugged my old 7600gt back in, the machine didn't POST properly. Instead, there was a not so nice red text about how "previous overclocking had failed and the system had been restored to default settings". I checked the bios after this, and nothing had been changed back to defaults. So what was it referring to exactly? The Ultimate has preoverclocked GDDR though, so did that fail for some reason? Or was it something else? In any case, I hit reset and now it posts properly.

Any ideas?

if it is broken then this is not working take it back to store and get another one. my first card was shorted and caused fire. I put fire out i noticed the fan still running the monitor could not get signal. I took the card to the headquarter and got a new one (same kind) it worked perfectly for a month now.

That's just it, I don't know if the card is broken. I googled around a bit and saw a few other people having same problem. I don't think it's the PSU atleast, so maybe incompatible mobo? And that whole "overclocking failed" message is really bothering me.
