Update.

Ok so its over one week now and I have not had the problem since the fresh W 8.1 install, MB BIOS update per post #87. So at this point & time I am now convinced the problem is solved and so for the record this card was perfectly fine.

Nice! Now it's time to crank her up and see if you can break her :biggrin:
Post some OC results when you get around to it. Seems like a sweet card at a sweet price.

Just an update.

Looks like I spoke too soon on no problems, I just got my first black screen! Not the hard lock one from gaming, booting, but the one coming out of sleep mode. So I had to hit my reset button for a restart.

I had the same issues with my r9 290 tri-x oc and fixed after uninstall trixx utility. Sometimes monitor won't wake up after sleep. Uninstall trixx utility - monitor wake up without problems every time. I'm testing 30-40 times with this power options settings - monitor sleep after 1 min., hard disk - after 3 min., pc - after 5 min. With 14.4 - bsod when runing at the same time fishbowl, youtube video and foobar2000. With 14.6 beta - no problems. i don' know, may be my card defective...or not, but without trixx and 14.1-14.4 drivers (the second post) , everything is just perfect.
