Would a 4850 x2 be equal to two 4850's in cross fire?
Considering you can get two 4850's for 250$ AR, it wouldn't seem like a good value for 400.00$+?

WTF the 4850x2 beats 4870x2 in higher resolutions?

These scores look all messed up. Just look at COD4 scores compared to firingsquad review.

http://firingsquad.com/hardwar...mance_review/page6.asp

19x10 4xAA 16xAF - 4870x2 - 2x4850 - GTX280
Firingsquad 161.5 - 141.8 - 110.9
Techpowerup 89.3 - 88.7 - 91.3

From that review 4870x2 smokes the GTX280 @ 19x12, yet in this review the GTX280 beats both. Come on!

techpowerup's review is messed up, looks like crossfire isn't working most of the time, and like sschevy points out, in CoD4 crossfire scales pretty well, but at techpowerup, it doesn't scale worth shit ... How is 400$ for this card good though? At least the HD4870X2 is pretty close to costing twice the amount of a single HD4870, yet you can get 2 HD4850's for much less then $400? If it comes in at 300 euro's, I might actually get one ...

What sucks about this card is that the heat isn't exhausted out of the case...and the price. It should be closer to $350.

Just a thought, but could it be...

Techpowerup's problem is they are using lesser hardware than the other reviews.
The other reviewers are using x38/x48 with quads so the xfire is at x16 link.

Techpowerup is using the P35 and with the maxed out test settings and larger memory on the cards I think the bandwith is not restricted on the x16 boards.

ATI wont have anything to say, since the card was designed by sapphire, not ATI.

Card's beautiful. Price will come down over time. Looks like the drivers still need work, too. I do like the fact that their test system is a lot closer to what a lot of people will actually have on their desks.

Ya this card is indeed interesting. But the cooling solution is garbage. Noise is unacceptable. Will other solutions fit from water block makers as its non referance.
Seems like really value product.
