Sapphire Radeon 9600 Atlantis 256MB DDR

i'm eyeing up this card.looking for good 2d ,dual vga and able to play games occasionally.i don't want to spend a fortune .the card i have now is a matrox g550 should i go for a bit better ,will this card overclock thanks

256MB is worthless on a card that slow. Even the latest ATI 9800XT and 5950Ultra cards struggle to use 256MB, and only then at the highest resolutions with AA/AF enabled. On any card below that it doesn not increase performance, merely marketing power.

The plain vanilla Radeon 9600 is a fairly awful performer, you would be much better off spending a little extra and buying a true Radeon 9600PRO. I sincerely believe you will regret it otherwise...:beer:
