Sapphire Radeon 9000/9700- what do YOU think? POLL

Put one in a recent system build where the user wanted to have a better card than the GF4 MX440 without breaking the bank (just to beat their friend by a small margin 😉) and I was impressed with the card, good value.

But they are having problems playing most games, they load, then minimize, you try and maximize and it comes up for a second or two and then minimizes. Seems to be a DirectX issue according to dxdiag and ATI messages etc.

Can you uninstall and reinstall DirectX on WinXP....am going to try updating to 8.1b to see if that sorts it!

Looking forward to your article, bluemax. HOW soon on the ATI main page?

Not my article anymore. Someone at Anandtech took the idea and ran with it, I guess. 🙁 So now he's losing interest since someone else is doing a review. Wondering now if they'll be reviewing yet another Radeon 9700 or "Sapphire". The Company.

We could have worked together on this if they'd answer a single darned email.

Saphire cards are available at overclockers and Ebuyer.com for £293, but Hercules cards can be got for less and I would rather have one of them as I've heard of them and they're cheaper (£280 at komplett.co.uk). (talking from a UK point of view) (9700 Pro's)
