Sapphire Radeon 8500 Artifacts in 3D Games Problem

Well last week I took delivery of my Sapphire Radeon 8500LE 64MB from Newegg.

I simply took out my GF2 Pro card and installed the card into my Abit KT7A/Win XP machine and away I went - wondering what all the fuss was regarding Ati Drivers - it was the easiest setup of a video card ever and I was very happy indeed with the upgrade in performance

Well this week I decided to revert to Win ME (for driver reasons with my SBLive 5.1 card) and use my K7S5A motherboard.

So, I reloaded everything and now - after hours of cursing Ati Drivers I have my card installed yet again.
The problem is that now any time I load a 3D game the screen is covered in lines and huge artifacts - which "renders" the game unplayable.

FYI - my 64MB card is actually reported as a 128MB card - even although the sticker says 64MB...??

Also I could not get the 3.1's to install until I installed dx9 for some reason?

Anybody out there had any trouble with Win ME & the K7S5A?

I'll be putting my GF2 in there tonight just to check the board - which was flawless previously.
