Hello to everyone, I'm new here. I'm not hard core gamer, I'm just gaming when weather is bad and when I'm bored.

I'm not sure if my GPU is working as it should.
With Heaven benchmark 4.0 i get score of 1312
it seems ok according to this:
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18580567

but with 3d mark for example on Fire Strike I get:
Score:8236
Graphics score: 11204
Physics: 5709
Combined score: 3547

and I compare that to others, for example:

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/3566004?

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/3566324?

I see that my Physics score is much lower...

Is that normal? Can anyone please write down or share their scores with similar configuration?
So i can compare it with mine.

Also many games have shuttering if I put everything on ultra, then i have to lower anti aliasing, vertical sync and that kind of stuff.

For example i put Crysis 3, everything maxed out and its unplayable. Even if i lower SMAA to 4X i still on some maps get like 16fps.
I google it, watched few youtube videos like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1IfO68p1N4
and i just don't understand. Is my card fault one or is it normal?

Shoud I ask for new one?

I have following specs:
i5 4670K at 4,2GHZ
16gb corsair1866
Gigabyte G1 Sniper Z87 (bios updated)
Corsair 850w PSU
Sapphire r290 tri-x
1920x1200 monitor
Windows 8.1 64-bit
Driver Packaging Version: 14.501.1003-141120a-178000C (newest)

Please help.
Thanks in advance!

The graphics score is fine, the other 290x scores you cite are in the 11xxx to 12xxx ballpark.

These other scores have the 4790K.. which has the upper hand in 3dmark's physics score due to having HT. Nothing you can do about that, apart from overclocking higher than 4.2GHz, but then you'll never get too close to what the i7 can do here.

Right, OP is CPU limited. Pop in a i7-4790K and you will get those same scores.

This is why I score a bit low, I only have a 3570k. It's ok for real world usage but 3DMark likes more cores for the physics score.

think the Sapphire Tri-X stock clock is 1GHZ

I get 1356 with a R9 290 PCS+ which stock clock is 1040GHZ & a 4770K

run Heaven at 1080 with max settings

you're getting the 1312 score running at 1200 though

Sounds right.I just ran Firestrike in my rig2 which has a 3770k @4.5Ghz, 16G ram and a Sapphire Tri-X OC R9-290 stock
Overall: 9501
Graphics: 10972
Physics: 11799
Combined: 4136

Forget about MSAA in crysis 3, it has insane performance overhead. SMAA4 adds 2x msaa too, so try 2TX. Also it's very likely to have CPU ceiling in some areas, because the game loves Hyper-threading.

I have the same card with Heaven benchmark 4.0 I get a score of 1336

With 3d mark basic
Score:10970
Graphics score: 15331
Physics: 6192
Combined score: 5553

Mine is in a old system with Xeon quad cores and using the latest Radeon omega drivers. While running Heaven benchmark 4.0 CPU usage never peaked past 17% on 3dmark stayed in the 25-30% mark or lower for the most part except for the CPU physics and combined parts.

When playing WoW my CPU usage rarely breaks 12% so it appears CPU bottlenecking is not much of an issue and this is simply as fast as these card go.

hmm...interesting.
Have you overclocked your card or you have default values, GPU at 1000 MHz and Memory at 1300 MHz? Because as I see your results, they are quite better than mine + u said u have old system.
So I guess that's because XEON has Hyper Threading?
Is my CPU bottleneck then for r290 tri-x?

Only in this specific benchmark. The physics score is almost entirely CPU, and not GPU.

For actual gaming, you are fine. Synthetic benchmarks do not typically represent real world performance.

Something is wrong with my CPU temp, and I don't know what.
I re run physics test with fans on max performance and opened case, and I got 6516! That is huge improvement! My temp where 92-100°C

And I'm certain it should go over 8000 on physics test for sure!

I got corsair H80i cpu cooler. One tube is hot other is cool, that means that pump is pumping right?

I've also post my dilemmas to overclockers forum to hear other opinions:

Sounds like you may need to remount the cooler. The radiator is working is one tube is cool, although it could be its not working well enough.

I' ve tried this so far: re-moved h80i and placed it again, unplugged pump usb and plug it to another usb port on MB, re-install corsair link. Nothing, temperatures are still high.

Today i will try to re-install windows, fresh install of all drivers, maybe problem will go away.

If that doesn't help i will put stock intel cpu cooler, and if temps are normal, then I know problem is in h80i and i will return it, i still have warranty.
