Have an i5-760 on Asus P7P55D-E and a Sapphire HD5670 PCI-E video card. Downloaded and installed the 10.8 Catalyst drivers from Sapphire during the install. When computer tries to come out of sleep mode the desktop background is either garbled or black. Only way is to do a reset of the computer.

I uninstalled the Catalyst software but the default driver for Win7 x64 does not allow sleep mode. Put an old EVGA Nvidia card in the box and it had no problems coming out of sleep mode w the WHQL drivers.

My brother has the same issue with his 5770, but his screen just stays black. It doesn't happen all the time. Not sure what's up...

Think I will be taking it back for either an eVGA GeForce GT 220 1GB or eVGA GeForce GT 240 1GB.

Next time it happens & the screen is all black try unplugging the monitor while it's powered on. This was happening to my on a 4670 1GB. Every now and then the card couldn't bring the monitor out of hybernation when they would both try to "wake up."

Went resuming out of sleep I get the normal windows screen saying account is locked however some of the icons on the desktop are showing through or when I click on the Username on that screen and the normal desktop loads I wind up with either a totally unreadable screen or pixelation.

Well it's time to eliminate possibilities then. Go to AMD's site and download the latest complete driver install for your card.

Then do a complete uninstall with Driver Sweaper and reboot the PC. Then reinstall the the latest version of the drivers directly from AMD.

When this card was installed on this new Win7 install I used the 10.8 complete install from Sapphire's web site.
