Hey guys I m purchasing HD 7950 Sapphire twin frozer.
The GPU is tahitti based chip and its SKU is 11196-19-40G

The card is used but absolutely brand new, warranty still remains for 2year and 9 months as per seller.

Should I go for it?

Is the card overclockable and good variant of 7950?

THe card costing me for 335$ i.e 21000INR

Please give your valuable suggestions, how far I should negotiate with the buyer?

$335 is a LOT for here in the US, thats more than a 7970. But I am not sure where you live, that may be the going rate.

As for the card, if its a "Twin Frozr" then thats an MSI, not a Sapphire. So I may be leery of the seller with such a big piece of information like that being wrong.

OP the new R9 280X and R9 280 are going to launch at $300 and $250 in 2 weeks time. both are based on a tweaked version of the Tahiti chip which powers HD 7970 / HD 7950. R9 280 is a HD 7950 with some tweaks, mostly GCN 1.1 type power efficiency improvements. you might want to wait and see how these cards are priced in India ? But it should be around INR 20,000. why don't you wait and grab one of the R9 280 cards in late Oct.

In India we don't get products which are currently hitting market. Here a new product arrives after 3-6 months of its original release date.

It's extremely hard to say if whatever price is a good deal for it if you don't give us some indication of how the competition is priced. Can you link to a shop where you're buying from?

Also, the 7950 may or may not be the correct card for you, depending on what your hardware is. Can you list your PC's specs and your monitor's resolution?

Even if you do not get it in your market, it could push the price down on the current 7950's you do have.

If you can wait I would try and hold out a little longer.

Looking at their site, the 7950 cost about the same as a GTX660Ti, which is similar to here in the states. The 660Ti cost more here than a 7950, but not by a whole lot.

So I guess the price is ok, I just don't know the market of your area.

This was exctly what I wanted to talk about on the other thread where the price deduction of AMD current offerings(by Newegg) is being discussed, you can get 7950 3GB for just $180 and people still evaluating whether it is good price or not, but we(me & OP) have no choice but to pay 100% to 125%(or even more on some occasions) to buy these graphic cards.

Kinda glad I don't have to buy computer parts in India. Going rate for a 7950 stateside is around 200USD. 180 or so, if you're cool with a mail in rebate.

will it be good deal for 287.539$ i.e. 18000INR ?
It is preety hard to say because price is dependant on country or region. I don't know computer hardware prices & taxes in India, so I don't know if that's good deal. Althrough 285-300$ is more or less price for ok deals Radeon 7950 in European Union if that help your question in any way.

United States get lower prices of hardware than most countries in a world for variety of reasons. One of reasons is that most prices from other countries already include taxes, while it is customary for US prices to be written / offered without tax. (+ easier to avoid end-user sale tax in US afaik)
