There is slight risk associated with this deal, but not much since you can always cancel your order:
Amazon is selling the Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 2GB Video Card for an advertised price of $279.99, before rebates. The listing shows an after-rebate price of $244.99.
When you click the drop-down arrow next to the rebates, you see there are two rebates: a $15 rebate which actually expired on 1/31, and a $20 rebate that will expire on 2/15. The advertised after-rebate price of $244.99 is calculated by incorrectly including the $15 rebate, which is actually expired.
I purchased this video card, and then immediately contacted an Amazon CSR to tell them the $15 rebate was expired. I figured maybe the CSR would credit me for the expired rebate, and if not, I would just cancel the order. First I chatted with a CSR, who said there was nothing I could do. I then called a CSR on the phone, and he immediately apologized for the listing mistake, and credited my Amazon account $15.
