MSI AfterBurner 2.1, clock speed slider is still limited even after I modified the "MSIAfterburner.cfg" file. I changed the line to "UnofficialOverclockingMode = 1".
In afterburner, I have also checked "unlock voltage control" and "unlock voltage monitoring".

Using Win7 x64. Tried 11.3 and 11.4pre drivers.
Also tried on HD 6950, 6970 card, no difference.

Yes, it is the Sapphire extreme version, so I guess I am gonna have to play it safe with only 830 core clock, as that is as high as it can go.

So would you flash yours and report back?
I suppose if you have a backup vga, you should be able to flash it back right?

I'm going to wait for the next version of trixx(if it doesn't take to long) and if it doesn't have voltage control then i'll go the bios route

If you don't mind, go ahead and send me the modified Sappire 5850 Xtreme BIOS.
I will try flash it.

You only changed the voltage correct? so it is still the same Sapphire Xtreme 5850 BIOS, with voltage at 1.12?
What are the chances that I will brick the card? and can it be rescued if I flash back the original BIOS?
Yes, I have multiple VGA cards, and mobo with multiple PCI-E slots. So, I could install a working card in the first slot, and put the sapphire card on the second, and flash the sapphire card back to factory BIOS.

It's the stock bios from my card with just the voltage changed.personally i would wait for TRIXX to come out.If this was a reference card i would say go ahead and don't worry about it.Now RBE read the card as being able to change the voltage registers but if RBE is wrong you will brick the card. And the more i think about it these cards have been out for a couple weeks now and i haven't heard of anyone upping the voltage yet.The thing that makes me nervous is it's a sapphire only creation

You could try to blind flash it back, assuming no physical damage to the card.

so i can still flash it back even after i brick it?
If I have a working card, then i wouldn't need to "blindly" flash it back correct?
I know you can do that with nVidia cards, put a working card in first slot, and put the bricked card on the second, and flash just the second card. Is that achievable with AMD cards?

that's correct. if the card is otherwise not physically damaged, you can always unbrick it by reflashing it. basically, use the same method as with nvidia cards, just a different flash tool (atiflash) instead.
