I'm really in a quandry here. I'm still on agp but socket 754/pci-e boards are only like 50 - 70$ I'm using a 9800 Pro on a westinghouse 37 inch 1080p lcd display and the 9800 Pro obviously can't handle anything newer at that res. Fortunately scaled 720p looks pretty good on this display too but I still need a new card to run the new stuff. I'm going to an all-weekend lan party in march and need a new card by then too. I'm torn between a 6800GS, one of the unlcoking X800 cards, a 7800GT or something off ebay. I think if I could find a 7800GT/pci-e mobo for 300$ I'd grab it but you don't see socket 754/pci-e boards in these kinds of deals. I'm leaning towards nvidia here because the newer nvidia cards seem to handle no aa/af situations better then ATI and I never use aa/af.
I've been holding of upgrading my video card for over a year now waiting for the next unreal game to come out. I really want whatever I buy to run the next unreal engine.
