Hello, I was in a shopping mood for a Sapphire X800 GTO2 (square) but unfortunately in my country (in europe) only GTO and GTO Fireblade are available for sale. The official distributor of the Sapphire video cards in my country told me that is possible to import also GTO2 but it wasn't sure when will it be available at Sapphire (but when i browse the internet i can see this card is very available). Whatever.

So, I was thinking if X800 GTO Fireblade can also be modded 100% guaranted (like GTO2) into a X850 xt (pe - with oc). Does the GTO Fireblade also have the R480 core? It's the same procedure as is with GTO2 (described at techpowerup.com)?

I was and still am under the impression the mr. Kristopher Kubicki knows a lot about this cards and can clarify all the aspects regarding this matter, So please, can you help?
Basically I want to know (and i'm guessing I'm not the only one) what cards of the above have the R480 core and can be modded to X850 with all the 16 pipelines enabled.

This is about the Sapphire cards. Are there other brands that have cards capable of doing this?

Of course, anyone's help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot.

err, i've read that topic but i was still not clarified and decided to open up a new one, hopefully all things will be revealed.

quote from mr. Kubickis' post:
"The Fireblade is a different card. It is still R480 based, but I don't think it has the 6-pin power connector. I think Directron just got somet things confused."

So, this clarifies the problem? If you ask me, then no. I still don't know if ALL Fireblade cards have the R480 core, if it can be modded to x850xt(pe, with oc) using the procedure described at techpowerup and the rate of succes. Also, it has the 6-pin power connector? If it doesn't, then how it affects the performace of the card when oc'ed? Sure, I can buy one and test it myself but i want to know for sure, maybe someone knows and did it already.

All I know for sure is that it has the same memory as the gto2 (1.6ns, samsung if i remember correctly)

As for the prices, in my country the normal GTO sells for 205USD and the Fireblade for 207USD. So, equal prices. And the official distributor doesn't even know the differrent aspects of this cards ... the cards are the same as far the distributor thinks.

Thanks.
