Sapphire 7950 fit in a Lian Q25B?

Hmm,not sure i think it will though?,kinda like these small cases reading up on a few as we speak.

I'd buy a used 7970 blower reference for that type of case. Where is the hot air gonna go, in that type of case with downward fans?
I've seen people have trouble when having little room under card in case with that type fans, and that is with 120 watt cards.

Well I was thinking I'd remove the HDD cage

Then use a H50 or something similar for the cpu, which would take out the top fan slot for the rad.

That would leave most of the bottom free to pull air in from the underside (possibly extend the legs slightly and mount a fan on the underside for intake), with the rad fan in pull (inside case, pulling air in from outside). Which leaves the back pretty free for a 1850 Gentle Typhoon. I'd mount a HDD in the back area, with a SSD stuck to it.

Sounds like a plan.

But is it a good one :hmm:

Pretty much been case free for almost 10 years, so lol... No clue what I'm doing.

I just know I want a small form factor with decent power for gaming without it turning into a windbox.

I dunno, that's why me ask 🙁

lol

I like the Fractal Design Node 304 because the GPU is up against the side of the case and draws air directly from the outside. It's an interesting idea for a small case because it kinda solves the small case heat issue. It's probably a little on the loud side, but with all that fresh air I would think the fan wouldn't have to work as hard.

I'm getting the itch to build a new PC, but I'm waiting to see what haswell brings. I will most likely be using the node 304 because I just love that case.

How many inches shorter is the 680 vs the 7950 again? Like 1? I don't think length will be a problem, maybe width though.

If I was going to go air that case would be much better as it would allow a tower cooler for the cpu...

The guy said he GeLid aftermarket cooler for the 680 would not fit in the case.

I don't think lenght will be a problem in the node 304. Get a modular PSU and mod the cables to run around to the front of hte case instead of tucking them between the PSU and GPU like in that picture. Also, it looks like an H80 is crammed into it in that picture as well.

I love the way that case looks and works. Whoever assembled the rig in that picture needs to go to cable management school... ugly

Yeah I'm thinking seasonic fanless platinum for the psu.

What 7950 do you think would fit in that case?

I think any would fit. Just make sure the power supply isn't really long. In the picture you can see how it backs up to the GPU. That's the only clearance I would really be concerned about because with the HD cages out it looks like you still have 3-4" of room for a longer GPU. I don't think there are any 15" gpu's around lol.

Balla, you might want to talk to Phillipma1957 on these forums, I believe he has built many MITX builds with the 7970 and I believe he used a 7970 double D in one of them as well.

As far as a good MITX case, I built 2 machines on a Bitfenix prodigy and I am positive you can even fit a 690 in it.
