Sapphire 5850 BIOS backup

Trying to get some help backing up my BIOS. I have tried ATI Tool, RBE, and GPU-Z. None of them can backup the BIOS. I want to flash to the MSI or Asus bios so I can overclock it.

GPU-Z: BIOS reading not supported on this device
ATITool: Save VGA Bios to file ... is grayed out
RBE 1.22: Nothing comes on screen. I hit Save Bios... nothing happens

Anyone have any ideas? I looked on other sites and got nothing. When people found one to not work, the others did. For me, nothing works.

I would advise against uploading a custom bios. Those 3rd party bioses can overvolt, run too aggressively and/or physically damage the card.

I am thinking I may have a defective card. I removed the ATI Catalyst driver, removed the card from the system in Device Manager. I reboot the system and it comes back in 800x600 mode with no driver found. I ran GPU-Z and was able to back up the BIOS. I then installed the latest Catalyst driver from ATI (dated 10/13).

After reinstalling the device driver:

GPU-Z: BIOS reading not supported on this device
ATITool: Save VGA Bios to file ... is grayed out
RBE 1.22: The screen has none of the fields filled with data. I am unable to save BIOS.

This leaves me to think I have a FUBAR'd card or there is a different driver I should install.

OK, I got my BIOS backed up. I was stupid. I have my 5850 overclocked now with an unlocked bios. For stability testing and determining the best OC, what GPU temp do you want to stay under?

I am currently at 950/1200 with a temp of 75^ steady running ATITool 3D

Hopefully, I am getting same card tomorrow. Keep us posted, so I'll have a good point of reference where/how to tweak my 5850.

In my experience, these chip's stability is heavily influenced by temperature; so the higher you want to clock it, the cooler you're going to want to keep it. If you're using the automatic fan control, it generally keeps temps in the 85-90C range. If you want to cool your card down more (<80C seems to help the most), manually set a fan speed or change the curve to work with your target fan range.

Would anyone with a sapphire 5850 be willing to upload their bios for me?
I flashed my card and the stick that I stored my original bios died...
so yah, I would really appreciate it.
