Sapphire 5770 makes squealing noise with Corsair PSU?

Hi,

My Sapphire Vapor-X 5770 card is making squealing noise all the time. So I contacted the Sapphire technical support. They asked me if I used a Corsair PSU, which I did. They said that:

"Thats the type of power supply that makes the squealing noise with our card. Do you have a different system you can test this card with and i am sure the noise will be gone. Our Engineers has been working with Corsair to see what is causing this so far they have not release anything yet"

Does it make sense? Is there any way to get rid of this noise?

I previously had an HX620W PSU with a Vapor-X 4890, and this combo buzzed/whined during games. The HX620W recently died on me, and Corsair shipped me an HX650W as a replacement. At this time I also sold my 4890 and bought a 5770 Vapor-X (I don't game anymore, and wanted the 5770 for DX11 and the lower power draw). The new combo of the HX650W PSU and the Vapor-X 5770 does NOT whine or buzz at all, but I haven't run any games either. The only 3D applications that I've ran are the RTHDLR demo and the Far Cry 2 benchmark, just to make sure that the card was working ok, and to test out the fan noise. And my system is nearly silent, I would hear any whining/buzzing.

I'd also ask PCTOPCOOL for the whole system specs, seeing as you don't even give the PSU WATTS but you supposedly wanted help? A lot of the newest PSU are having issues with certain motherboards and such. Corsair doesn't auto spell quality IMHO, they are cheap(not bashing just stating).

Actually my card starts making noise right after I press the power button.

Oh please. If Corsair is "cheap" then so is every other high-end PSU. Their designs are custom top-shelf builds from the likes of Seasonic and CWT, and they have the lowest failure rate in the industry (2%).

Yeah, I imagine some do die or develop problems, it's an electrical device and sometimes "shit happens". The thing is, "shit happens" a lot less with Corsair PSUs than other brands, and when it does they take care of it very quickly. That's why you pay a premium price for their units.
