Sapphire 5570 problem...

Hey guys! I have a new celeron g530 mini computer and recently tried putting the videocard mentioned in the title inside. Everything powers up correctly, including the GPU, but there is no output from it. While the card is still in the PCI-E slot, I try plugging the hdmi into the mobo hdmi slot, and still no output. It is not until I take the card out of the slot that the mobo hdmi slot gives an output. My case power supply is 250w, is this the problem? AMD's website states 400w is necessary, but many newegg reviews state they are using it on 250w just fine. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance! 🙂

Forgot to add..my mobo is a biostar th61.

Ehhhh....the 5570 is very power efficient, so I'm not surprised if people got it working on 250w power supplies, but still. It's a 250w power supply. I wouldn't be surprised at all if that PSU was the source of your problem. However, it may be the case that the graphics card isn't working properly by itself. You could try the graphics card in other PCs to see if the problem lies with the card.

I will try installing the drivers before putting the card in, although I doubt that is the problem.

I don't think you can install the drivers without the card in the machine. AMD's installation service auto-detects what hardware you have and tailors the installation for that hardware. It won't do anything if it doesn't detect AMD hardware. Either way, the graphics card should at least output to your monitor and allow you to access your desktop if the driver's not installed.

Sounds like the card may have been DOA 🙁

I want to try this card again before sending it out. Anything special I need to do? I merely popped it in last time....do I have to install/uninstall anything before hand? Alter something in the biostar th61 bios? Any help would be great guys 🙂
