Sapphire 3850 1GB pictured

Does the 3850 really have the horsepower to run any games at the resolutions and AA/AF levels that would require 1gb of memory? This seems to me to be just a way for the card manufacturers to make more money, like old PCI video cards that you could buy with 512mb of memory.

Oh man, if this works well, this would be killer. I always thought the 3850 was kind of limited by having only 256mb. 1GB may be overkill, but 512 would be nice.

At $150 for a good card, it doesn't get better than the 3850 (unless you use linux like me:( )

There are plenty of 512mb 3850s. The Egg has 4-5 of them last time I checked.

IC, they have one for $160 AR...if only I didn't have to upgrade my motherboard and processor, I would buy this too...
