I could not find any reviews detailing this specific card:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=14-202-006&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=100&PurchaseMark=&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Keywords=&Page=1#scrollFullInfo

and i couldnt find the exact model on the sapphiretech website either.

are all sapphire 7950s the same minus the boost/OC versions? i'd like a bit more detail on this (temp, voltage locking? noise, etc) aside from the newegg page, before i purchase.

thanks.

That one has unlocked voltage. There is no difference in the cooler, and it's cheaper. The 3L reportedly has locked voltages.

I just installed Trixx, I can raise the voltage with that. Maybe I was just doing something wrong with Afterburner, even though I edited the CFG file and checked the boxes for voltage etc.

just bought the card. im expecting this to be a huge upgrade from my gtx275. i managed to sneak it past borderlands 2 last fall but bioshock is bringing it to its knees.

Watagump what was your Sapphire 3L voltage stock on that card out of the box before you installed Trixx?

TIA

GPUZ shows it bouncing a bit, 1.24-1.25. Trixx displays it at 1250.

Ok thanks same here with Trixx, I recieved mine today also and I thought from research before I bought it the 7950's were like .99 -1.02v stock so after installing Trixx and seeing that voltage and after I hit reset on Trixx and it was still 2.4 I thought it was too high. So I downclocked mine to .99 ran a couple short 3Dtest per PassMark and some gaming (both @ 925mhz) has been running fine at .99v. So I am going to leave thier for now till I research this some more. 🙂

The boost bios as supplied from AMD ran at 1.25v on the GPU. Most people should be able to reduce their voltages from 1.25v though. I believe that was just a worse case setting so when they sent it out to reviewers to flash their reference review samples, they'd be guaranteed stable.

2L has VRM temp sensors 3L does not.
2L is a refrence PCB 3L is not it is a custom PCB, 2L would be easier for a water block
2L has one DVI port 3L has two.

Double check this but I believe these are the only differences.
