Saphirre 7870 freezing

So i have 2 sapphire 7870 XT 2GB that i am trying to use on a bitcoin rig. If i install 1 card it will run for about an hour ( 480 MHz) and the computer will freeze. If install both cards i get about 2 minutes before the computer freezes, as soon as it hits over 825 Mhz it freezes. I have tried under clocking, over clocking. The temperature of each card has reached 67 degrees C. My mother board is a ASUS M5A99FX PRO 2.0. I only have 2 gigs of Crucial Ballistic memory installed. My PSU is a Corsair TX850. I dont know what to do to make it stop freezing. Any help or suggestions would be most helpfull.

try running them at stock speeds? reinstall vid drivers?

So you have more memory on the combined video cards than for the rest of the system? What OS are you running?
32 or 64 bit?

When you said underclocking/ overclocking, are your referring to the CPU or the video card(s)s?

i'd think TX850 should be enough ...

Even if both those cards are pull 200+ watts a peice and the rest of your system is pulling 300w you should still be ok.

Is your cpu overclocked a lot ?
maybe try swapping some plugs around to make sure things are well balanced
and no cables are loose

Is one card bad maybe ?
