I just purchased a Sanyo Katana II (model SCP6650), which is a Sprint handset. It has Bluetooth capability, and I can get my Mac to connect to it just fine, but I tried uploading an MP3 to it to use as a ringtone and it failed saying the file type is unsupported. OK, cool, phone doesn't support MP3 file format, I can live with that. However, some brief Googling seems to indicate that the only supported method for acquiring ringtones is to purchase them from Sprint. Again, not surprising, but I'd like to be able to put custom ringtones (e.g., the murloc aggro sound) on the phone I own without having to be nickel-and-dimed for it.
Do any of you know a way to put custom ringtones on the Katana II? Is there another file format that it will accept over a Bluetooth transfer?
