Sanyo Eneloop LSD NiMH battery "kit" : $19.99 Costco B&M

SunnyD

Belgian Waffler
Looks like the Eneloop pack is on "sale" at Costco right now, $7 MFG-instant rebate bringing the price to $19.99 for the pack. Pretty good deal for some good rechargeable batteries (haven't seen any better deals lately).

Sounds like a great deal. Here is the package at Amazon.

EDIT >> The deal is @ Costco B&M. Link to Amazon is for reference only!

Awesome deal, but you're probably going to want to just toss the charger out right away, that's the craptastic one IIRC.

I read a review at that Amazon link and read that there are no C or D size batteries included. Those are spacers only.

Still hot....I think not.

Price isn't there anymore. Amazon for 24-25 is dead.

For anyone not having used these before. This Costco price is hot. No where else will you get 8 AA's and 4 AAA's for 20.00, much less get a charger and the the spacers. I didn't have a lot of use for the spacers but at the equivalent of 6.67 per 4 pack, this can't be touched.

Even Amazon wants 12.35 for a 4 pack of AA's and 10.17 for the AAA's

These batteries last as long as any other NIMH battery I've used (a lot of them), plus the big benefit to these are that they hold a charge up to a year. Usually NiMH last 60 days max without a charge.

I bought 3 of these from Costco over the year. They do hold a charge for a long time been using them for all of my kids toys. Just wish pack had more AAAs.

I agree they are some of, if not the, finest rechargables your money can buy. I guess I was just taken off guard by what my eyes saw and what your really buying. If it had the C's and D's I'd have bought 3 or 4 packs of them as a molten hot deal, but yes even for just the 8 A's at this price it is a good deal.

I only linked to Amazon for reference since it isn't on the Costco website.

🙂

And I made an error. I thought it was 8AA and 4 AAA. There is only 2 AA as the OP stated.
In the three packs I bought last year it was in the blue box with an extra pair of AA's.

This is what the other ones looked like in last years Costco deal

Looks like they kept the price the same but shorted the set two AA's. Kind of like the 1/2 gallon OJ going to 59 oz or the ice cream going from the 1/2 gal to the 3 pint size.

Got it last week. Everything's fine with the kit except for the C & D adapters. They might not work with your flash light. I had to toss in a metal disc in so the spring on the lid of the flash light makes electrical contact with the battery.

The charger that comes with this kit is fine. You don't need to go out and buy some $100 charger with LED display to charge batteries. WTF is wrong with people.

Err... not sure what you expected when I said "4xC Adapters and 4xD Adapters".

Despite what you think, for 8xAA and 2xAAA LSD NiMH batteries (+ the adapters), $19.99 is an excellent price. Especially for eneloops... for example... $9.77 for 4xAA. You want to play the mix'n'match game, you're not going to find any LSD NiMH's much cheaper, let alone come with adapters, additionally be eneloops. So yes, still hot.

Chill dude. You obviously didn't read the rest of the thread after my original post rubbed you the wrong way.

I commented again just over an hour later (see 3 posts below my original) and I acknowledge what you proclaim above.

I already corrected myself a couple of days ago. No need to spank me today.

Again....hot deal. If you have a Costco near you. 😉 Its not showing up on a search of their website.

Trombe posted the charger is NG. Why, and if it's really that bad what's better?

Why would such seemingly good batteries even come with a NG charger....

It's just a generic rapid charger that provides no options to do things like battery conditioning or overcharge sensing (or at least rudimentary options for the latter). It's good enough for using in a pinch, but you really want to get a better charger like a Maha, LaCrosse or Ansman for long term use (they're generally easier on the batteries and help them last longer between charges and overall lifetime).

is there a pack with more AAA batteries? or can you buy those separately? I'd like some more of the AAA.

2 more AA for $4 more and a plastic carrying case

that pack is the one i have currently. costco doesn't seem to carry those any more.

For clarification purposes, this thread was for the Eneloop pack being sold @ Costco B&M for $19.99. The link to Amazon was for reference only since the pack isn't listed on Costco's website. $19.99 + $4 != $38.99
