Sanyo Denki Swiftech MC462 fan vs. Delta fan

I am ordering a Gladiator and am trying to figure out if I should use a Delta or the Sanyo Denki fan off my Swiftech HSF that I don't plan on using. Does anyone know the performance difference between these two fans, and how they compare noise level wise? Thanks for any help...

Well, the delta is pretty loud...I have an 80mm delta in my case, and at 12volts, it's enough to keep you awake, though not near as bad as the 60mm screamer...

I'd say go with the Sanyo...

What are yah doing with that old mc462? *wink*

heh

caino

edit: at about 8-9 volts the 80mm delta moves a pretty good amount of air but is a lot quieter...

Thanks for the info, anyone know some more specifics? And about my swiftech, I will most likely post it for sale if I don't use it, but without the stock fan I don't know if anyone would want it.

I'm about to throw a 60mm screamer on my swiftech once it comes in. I'm going to see how good of a job it can do. Regardless of the noise.

The Sanyo fan is rated at about 45cfm and includes the extra wire for monitoring fan speed. The Delta fan is rated at 68cfm, about 50% more than the Sanyo Denki, and is correspondingly louder, although not as obnoxiously loud as the 60mm 38cfm Delta. Hope this answers your question.
