I was considering this or the 27" flat sanyo for the same price today. Can't decide.

Yea... its a tough choice...

I got the 27" flat screen yesterday... It's great. I'm no videophile but its a lot better than the 10 year old sony that I had...

The reason I picked this is because of it's small footprint. It seems that most 27" flat screens out today have big towering cases with speakers on the side. This one fits perfectly in my TV cabinet...

It's got a lot of inputs so it can fit in pretty much any system(component, s-video, etc). The sound quality is good too. The remote control is nice but it is not going to replace the universal one that I currently use.

The only improvements I can think of are PIP, which I would have paid extra for.

Went today and purchased one of these TV's

So far i am impressed with the picture image which is same as my Sony 20 inch

Sound though is still lacking compared to my old projection TV. I will fix that by going through my home stereo system

a close frend of the family works as a manager of a sanyo repair facility
even the reconditioned sets are reliable afaik/afaict
not many (if any) sanyos have component input -- she told me they weren't coming out with an hdtv until 2004?
but have to say again, reliable tvs
when i saw "sanyo", said "i bet it's walmart!" heehee
thanks for posting!

It seems this TV has the usual composite & s-video inputs. No component inputs.

Nice price, Jen.

Note that I was talking about the 27" flat screen for $297, specifically the DS27930 which DOES have component inputs as well as two S-video inputs and two composite inputs.

Hey, anyone know why Sanyos are available only in Walmart?

Do they have some exclusive deal or something?
