I've never heard of this sound card before. For this price, I would go with the lower end model of SBLive.

its the one of the new sound cards. supposed to have a lot of cool features. see the review through the link on the anandtech home page..
also I am hoping it would work ok with KT7 board. Both Sblive and MX300(aureal 8830) cards have problems with that otherwise great mobo.

Hmmm, I'm getting ready to build a system w/ the K7T and I was going to get the SBLive Value card. What are the problems that you speak about? Do you know where I can get some other info on it? Thanks

Umm where do you see free shipping? Oh and supposedly this sound card is superior to the Live! in terms of soundquality... no joking; just do a search for santa cruz and you'll find the thread that talks about it

I don't know when that review was done, but I have not had any problems playing half life with a3d in win2k. I haven't tried eax though.

The only complaint for this card thus far is immature drivers. As long as Creative doesn't sue Turtle Beach out of existence, I doubt the drivers will be a problem for long.

Nah. Its not based on any aureal chips. I just got the drivers from the turtlebeach website.

Yes loogie, i know that. I also own a santa cruz. The a3d reference driver works for any card that supports a3d. Install it, beleive me it will work. It is what i had to install to run a3d in elite force and quake 3

yeah, i'm curious, what bugs are you talking about? i have an mx300, and i remember the drivers that came with my card were extremely buggy, but now i'm running a vortex 2500 with a kt7 and using reference drivers from http://www.vortexofsound.com and they seem to be running great, games run fine, mp3's, no problems at all

Well I have to say this. While the santa cruz driver beta for win2k works, it is very buggy. It tends to crash some of the sim games I like play. BTW, at least on my system, if I test dx sound, it sounds really horrible. Only been in my system for less than a day, I had to pull and returned it for refund. :(

zzzz,
I just got a Santa Cruz because my old Montego was incompatible with my new KT7. Santa Cruz is working fine in conjunction with the KT-7 and that's just using the drivers on the cd. Sounds quite a bit better than my Montego.
