Santa Cruz Configuration Question

I have a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz installed on my system, and it works great with my Klipsch 4.1 speakers. I installed Game Commander 2 Software this weekend, and purchased a Plantronics Audio .50 headset for use with it. This is a mic with one speaker headset. I plug the mic cable into the red port on the back of my Santa Cruz, and the headset cable into the VersaJack, but no sound comes out of the headset. Am I doing something wrong, or do I need to reconfigure something else? The voice recording works fine, its just that no sound comes out of the headset. Hardware diagnostics report that the card is functioning normally.

Can someone PLEASE help???

Thanks

I'm assuming you've already experimented with the settings for the versajack from analogy headphones to analogy out.

When I set it for 4 speaker output, it lets me pick Analog In, Digital Out or Analog Out for the Versajack. When I pick Analog out, nothing happens. However, if I change my speaker setup from 4 speaker to either 2 Speaker or Headphones, the Earpiece works. What I want is to have my 4.1 speakers working as well as the the earpiece for the headset since having the headset on muffles that one ear. This headset also has its own volume control, so I can adjust the sound levels for it.

Thanks

if you have it set to 4 speaker, then you have to plug the headset into the REAR OUT.
if you have it set to 6 speaker, then you can plug the headset into the VERSAJACK, as long as VIRTUAL 5.1 is enabled, and the versa is set to ANALOG OUT.

i'm assuming that u're trying to get sound from BOTH your headset and speakers simultaneously?

if not, just set the versajack to HEADPHONE (VERSAJACK) under speaker mode....it'll output analog to the versajack ONLY.

If I have the headset pulgged into the rear out plug, my rear speakers will not work, right? I do want to get my Klipsch 4.1 system (4 speakers and subwoofer) and the headset working at the same time. Is this possible? Please let me know.

Thanks again!

The Voice software works fine. it is the speaker setup/config that I don't have right. how do you have your speakers and headset configured in SC software in XP?

Thanks,

I'm running Win2k, not XP.

They are setup as the default, I suppose. I haven't really messed with them.

borg, do what i mentioned above before i assimilate u.

set the speaker mode to 6 speakers and enable the virtual 5.1 button in the master mixer volume area....it'll output to your front, rear, and analog versajack (by default).

meaning, u'll have 4.1 and your headphone jack working.

But wont I lose some sound quality and voices without the center channel being routed to 4.1 config??? Resistance is futile.....

No, because of the way virutal 5.1 works on the santa cruz....it's not like the accoustic edge where the center channel is a genuine center channel....

virtual 5.1's center channel is a mimicked front channel, so u won't lose anything, my little precious.

locutus.

Thanks a million! When I tried the Virtual 5.1 last night, it worked perfectly. my system kept sound quality, and the mic and headset worked great in the games. :)

I would also like to take this time to give a huge endorsement for Game Commander 2. This software has unbelieveable customization and flexibility for voice commands! TWO THUMBS UP!
