I love my santa cruz, but there haven't been any newly released drivers in the past year.

I think it's going to be obsolete soon.
 
I have the TBSC too.
The chip this card is based upon is discontinued and so is its support: in other words, don't expect any new updates/drivers.

Still, I'm holding on to it until 9.1 speakers become standard. 😉
