I picked one up at Costco last weekend when it was on sale for $59. It's pretty nice. The interface is pretty simplistic but it has a microSDHC slot for additional memory and is nice and compact.

Another option might be to get the 4GB Fuze for $48 and an 8GB microSDHC card for $19 (both from NewEgg), which is what I ended up doing.

Hopefully you guys have better luck than me as far as the shipping though -- I think NewEgg sold me something on backorder, because it took them three or four days to finally send it out to be shipped :frown:.

I still haven't gotten the 4GB Fuze I ordered on Black Friday...They must've been hammered with orders on that mess...

AmberClad,

I think you were fortunate. They took 7 days to ship out my 4GB Fuze.

I finally received mine yesterday. Needed to update the firmware before my .flac rips and .ogg UT soundtracks would be recognized as valid formats though.

is sansa the ipod killer?

with the drastic savings in price and the ability to add on SD cards I think so....

no, they were when it was e200 series vs 1st gen nanos.
but it seems as if sandisk hasn't improved the sansa too much since then.
on the other hand, the $69 8gb Sony mp3 player would've been a good alternative to a current nano as the screen and sound quality are top notch.
