Is anyone here using a sansa e200 series mp3 player with a micro sd card. I have an e250 and am considering adding a 2gb micro sd card, but I came across some posts that suggest the load time becomes rather slow with a sd card inserted, can anyone share some info regarding this

I had a e260 and did not notice any lag w/ a sandisk 2gb card.

I am guessing they had fake or substandard cards that slowed the process down.

I have an e260 with a Sandisk Ultra II microSD card. The load times other users are most likely speaking of is when you turn on the device. Every time the device is turned on, it has to refresh the database, which for 2gb of media gets annoying--to me personally, at least. However, once the device finishes this process, media playback, browsing, etc, is just as fast as it is on media stored on the internal memory.

The other complaint I have with the SD add-on is the fact that you can't load music onto it while it's in the device. To load music on it, you have to stick it in the full SD adapter and then place that in a card reader attached to your PC.

If you're in MSC mode, you can write directly to the MicroSD card in the Sansa. I do it daily. It just shows up as another drive. If you're in MSC mode and can't access the SD card, I'd open disk manager in windows and give the SD card slot an unused drive letter.

And yes, there is an annoying delay while it refreshes the database when you turn it on.

I'll give that a shot to be able to write to the MicroSD card while it's in the Sansa. Thanks.
