SandyBridge CPU's- locked and Unlocked?

I am looking at i5-2500 and I see some places sell a Locked and Unlocked version? Other places dont specify. As an old OC'er who hasnt kept up the last 2 years. Should i be looking at the Unlocked (seems to make sence that is waht I want)? Or is this some BS and just a way to grab $20-30 more bucks?

The SB CPUs with an unlocked multiplier have a "K" suffix. 2500K and 2600K. All others are locked.
