1: Welcome to the Forums.

2: Set Vcore to 1.410, CPU LLC medium.

3: Set Multiplier to 47, test, done lol🙂

If it wont sit there happily bump it by .05 one notch at a time till it will, it wont take much more than that from what I have seen so far.

Alternatively if its fine at 1.410 with 100x47 and stable, try backing down till u get P95 errors, bump it back up 1 notch, and retest, should have your minimum voltage required for 4.7.

Around 4.85 you will most likely start to require very significant voltage increases to proceed further up based on what I have seen posted.

For example my chip takes the following to be totally stable(these are 100% load voltages):
3600-4300 = 1.18vcore
4500 = 1.308
4700 =1.372
4800 = 1.424
4900 = 1.504
5000 = 1.572
5100 = Over 1.6, so not sure but 1.6 is nearly stable 😛

Are these voltage numbers meant to reference the bios setting, the bios reading, cpu-z load, or cpuz-idle? All of witch will be a different number than on another.

So can you get this 3960x chip OC to 5Ghz ???

Better yet what will Ivy Bridge E OC to ? 5Ghz Im hoping ? I can dish out 1.440v What would that get me in Ivy Bridge E .. 5Ghz ? thanks gl

Wow 1.57v Wow you must have house fans surrounding your rig.

I thought I'd chime in (very active @ OCN and on the HWBot team there).

3930K @ 4984MHz 24/7 (104.2x48)
1.395v - LLC High - 180pct - 1.165v VTT/VCCSA
Rampage IV Extreme
4x4GB G.Skill Ripjaws Z 2133 9-11-10 @ 2348 9-12-10-26 1T

Water cooled, custom loop.

Will do 5.24Ghz @ 1.46v
Strong IMC, good for at least 2666 10-12-10-27 1T with 1.170v VTT/VCCSA and 1.675 vDIMM

problem .. had system up and running. tried to overclock with asus auto overclocking software as im not famlier or comfortable with the trial and error method. had a coolmaster hyper 212 fan cooler on the cpu. i suspect id didn't
apply the thermal grease properly. i am now re-assembling with a silverstone tundra tdo2 liquid cooling kit.
my questions .. do i apply the thermal grease to the cpu and the bottom of the cooler ? the directions say to spread a thin layer on the cpu only.

does the auto overclocking overclock the ram and graphics as well?

if u have similiar hardware and questions as well , feel free to ask me.
i can only answer from my experience as i learn too.. ty ken
