I have two separate LANs in two different locations (two different cable internet providers)
When using the benchmark at one location, I can test all my computers using my laptop and get results.
However, when I bring the same laptop to the second location, I get:
Transfer Packet Too Large for Network/Host
I brought over two desktops from my first location and they get results when using the benchmark on one another but the laptop can't be tested.
At the first location, the laptop benchmarks fine.
What's wrong??
BTW I've bought a new NIC for the laptop, a SMC PCMCIA NIC (10/100) which solved the problem of the router showing a rapidly blinking LED for my laptop connection. Turns out the contacts for the built-in NIC were bent and FUBAR'd from wear and tear.
