Sandra,PC Mark,3Dmark scores, What do you think !!!!

Greetings to you all,

I?ve just completed testing my new over clocked system and I want to share with you some scores.

Before that let me state my gear components:

ABIT IS7-E Motherboard
P4 2.4c @ 3.0GHZ - 1000MHz FSB
Kingston HyperX PC3500 (256MB x 2) @ DDR400 working @ 2.8v 2-3-2-5 (couldn?t manage to make it work more than that)
Hercules ATI9700 NONE PRO card @ stock speed
WD 800BB Hard disk
Chieftec 420 watt PSU

Now for the scores:

SISOFT Sandra Max 3
*******************************************
CPU Arithmetic:
ALU 9413MIPS
FPU/ISSE2 2594/5737 MFLOPS

CPU Multi-Media:
Integer 13885
Float 21915

Memory bandwidth:
Int 5414 MB/S
Float 5447 MB/S

Storage Test (HD):
33058KB/S

*******************************************

PC Mark 2002

CPU 7444
Memory 9329
HD 1179

*******************************************
3DMark 2001SE
*******************************************

Default settings 15406

******************************************

3DMark 2003

Default settings 4590 (I?ve got better score 2 days ago)

Ok what do you think? Are these scores sensible for such a system or is there a room for some improvements?

Please state your opinions and thoughts; I would like to hear more 🙂

nice scores 🙂

Just a hair better than mine.... I all stock

3dmark2001 SE gives me a wrong DX version error...says i need 8.1 or highrt...I have 9.0b...any suggestions? (i dont really care, but i like using it when i do overclock the vid card )

Ok I have 2600 P4 C @ 3055 mhz, memory at 186mhz (235FSB) 5:4 ratio @ 2-6-3-3

My Scores:
CPU Arithmetic:
ALU 9317MIPS about the same but yours is faster since you have faster front side bus speed
FPU/ISSE2 3866/6764 MFLOPS (These are much higher than yours for some reason are you sure you have Hyper Threading enabled?)

CPU Multi-Media:
Integer 23428
Float 33831 (Again these are much higher for me - do you have latest INF Drivers for the I865 chipset installed from Abit's website? HT enabled???)

Memory bandwidth:
Int 5035 MB/S
Float 5032 MB/S You have me beaten on memory since you have lower timings plus i am running only at 186 (or 372mhz)

PC Mark 2002

CPU 7595 (PC mark is very sensitive to MHZ craze and I have 3055 mhz you have 3000 so that explains this)
Memory 8829 (again sandra showed worse memory bandwidth and this backs this up)

I have a slower videocard so i cant compare 3dmarks

So for the most part your computer is very fast however for the Sandra Multi-Media and FPU/SSE2 results, you might have to update chipset drivers or enabled HyperThreading if you have forgotten

I cant think of why those would be so much lower....maybe some else can explain

My PCmark on Abit IS7/2.6C@3.25GHZ 5:4 1GHZ FSB/1GB Crucial DDR400 is just a hair over 8000K.🙂

MMMM did u try the older Direct X 9.0 !!!!
That's what i'm using 🙂

I am using Sisoftware Sandra 2004

but i used 2003 Max i'd be getting the same results .... hmm....

I have GAT @ turbo - auto - auto - disabled - disabled

The 3dMark scores look a little low to me. I have basically the same system (IS7, P4 2.4C @ 3.0GHz, HyperX 3500), except I have a Radeon 9500 soft modded to be a 9700 Pro. My 3dMark01 is about 1,400 points higher, and my 3dMark03 is about 700 higher. Granted, my 9500 is probably clocked higher than your 9700 non-pro, but if my system can hit these scores I would think your system could too. Also, now that I have a new power supply I am going to try to get the bus higher than 250MHz. You might think about doing that as well (if you haven't already tried it).

Edit: The Futuremark "3d Accelerator Comparison" for 3dMark01 says the average score for a Radeon 9700 with a 3GHz processor is 15,978. So, you may want to shoot for that.

OK I managed to do another round of 3dmark 2003 and I got 4970 😉
But alas after installing the latest INF, every benchmark scores lower than these scores !!!!

I should format my HD, reinstall windows and do the tests again !
