Sandra 2002 memory scores low

SiS 746 chipset, 1700+ @2304MHz 12 x 192.

My scores were 2800/2700, now for no reason they are 2300/2200?

I checked my bios settings, flashed several bios versions, reinstalled Sandra and DirectX, as well as my AGP driver. Checked my 3DMark2001 score and it dropped 1400 points! WTF? I reinstalled Windows 2K Pro thinking my OS was the culprit. I also tried a different stick of RAM. My Sandra memory bandwidth score still sucks, but 3DMark2001 is now back to normal, about 12,500. My games framerates are all normal, so I guess I will just say Sandra 2002 and a SiS 746 are very inconsistent and glitchy.

Is there any other benchmark program I can download to measure memory bandwidth?

is sandra set for buffered or unbuffered?

i know someone that chased a ghost for days tryin to fix that one ~ hehe 😉

Not one to give up easily, here is a little rhyme we can all follow:

When the motherboard is in doubt, take the battery out!

I had already cleared the cmos several times to no avail, I finally unplugged the power supply and took the battery out for a couple of hours.

Bingo, Sandra memory bandwidth scores are back to normal.
