The company claims it can rack up transfer speeds of 100MB, meaning you can expect to move up to 1,200 photos per minute. It also meets the A1 App Performance Class specification, allowing it to load apps faster. Ultimately, it can hold up to 40 hours of full HD video.

Wow, that's freaking amazing. 400GB, in a tiny wafer. Wonder if that would work in my cell phone? (Samsung that takes microSDHC, maybe SDXC?)

Everyone I've ever talked to that's into photography says don't use mSD with adapters, use actual SD cards.

I fully agree with this, ive had way to many issues with adapters over the years, i only buy SD for my DSLR now, way less headache. I would love to use micro with adapters as everything else i own used micro sized cards but until they make adapters that work 100% of the time thats not an option.

Too much data to entrust to just one card. Better to spread it out among multiple cards to reduce chance of a card failure and possibly losing all of your data.

That's crazy. I have trouble filling my 16GB card lol. I have two slots in my camera and have it set to start using the other and it's very rare I've had situations where that happened. I personally rather just buy more cards than have one massive one, but I can definitely see uses for a 400GB one such as video or very long time lapses.

This isn't for your DSLR.

This is for your smartphone where you want to carry tons of movies, manga and music.

It also has a 10 year warranty.
Also, the 256GB "limit" on smartphones, is only an artificial limit, most will allow much higher.

Being on V10 rated, you aren't going to want to use it for anything like 4k video or burst photos.

That price is actually not bad, though I don't know if I'd trust Amazon/Ebay for something like this, I'm sure there will be lot of fakes.

Have they addressed write endurance? I wonder if this is using QLC or TLC. My experience with Sandisk mSD cards has been... rocky.

400gb Extreme MicroSD model now available:

https://www.engadget.com/2018/02/28/sandisks-super-fast-400gb-microsd-is-ready-for-4k-hdr-video/

That's where SanDisk's new 400GB Extreme UHS-I microSDXC card comes in, delivering 160 MB/s read and 90 MB/s write speeds while maintaining compatibility with most devices. It also conforms to the A2 specification (4000 IOPS read and 2000 IPS write), meaning it'll let you launch apps more quickly.

Wow not bad. Often when we hear these things we never really see it become available to normal consumers, but $200 for that much is not bad at all. Well more like $300 CAD. 200GB seems like the most economical choice though. But I can see an appeal for a single 400GB card, especially for a video camera.

It's still mind boggling how much data can be fit in something so small.

I finally got mine filled 75% on my Note 8. Over 100 movies and several thousand MP3s and a few hundred photos. Love this 400gb card!

Too much data to entrust to just one card
This. I used to keep 4GB cards in my dSLR, ready to swap them out if I managed to fill them up in one shoot. Never did. If I put one of those things in my camera, I'd likely never take it out, and the day it died would be a sad one indeed.
