SanDisk Ultra Plus VS Crucial MX100

Just wondering what others thoughts are about the Sandisk Ultra Plus compared to the Crucial MX100. I don't have any experience with the Sandisk's so i thought to ask

We are getting about 12 SSD, and can get a good deal on the Ultra's for about $50 off retail.

Looking at the bench http://anandtech.com/bench/product/736?vs=1221
it looks like the mx100 would be a better choice.

What are you doing with these SSDs?

The Ultra Plus is a perfectly good drive, but it is a generation older than the MX100. They both perform quite well in standard desktop/notebook usages.

Still waiting to hear back from my boss about who the client is, but pretty sure it will be standard office / normal usage. nothing to fancy

The MX100 drives seem to have "issues" for some people. I've not heard any similar problems with that particular SanDisk. If you can get it significantly cheaper, I would go with the SanDisk.

If they're cheaper, get the Sandisks. The Ultra Plus is a perfectly good light-use SSD, with consistent performance. Running a 4-channel controller (most have 8), it's not going to win the benchmark competitions, but it feels as fast as any other, for regular use, and doesn't get to feeling pokey over time.

<- Two Ultra Pluses at home, plus I forced one on my father 🙂.
