SanDisk Ultra Plus SDSSDHP-256G-G25 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) for Notebook

170$
not sure about the hotness

they even had the 128 for 90 till yesterday. When it comes to SSD my biggest concern, in fact 75% of my decision is based on reliability. Sandisk memory cards are the best in market when it comes to quality and reliability, not sure about their SSD, I tried doing some research but couldnt find much, they were a little late in the game.
Between the highly reliable Crucial and Intels available and the nightmare stories you hear about some of the others, It's hard to experiment... after all this is going to be the drive on which your OS will sit, but I hope Sandisk is maintaining its reputation...

Still a good deal, but for comparisons:

SanDisk Ultra Plus 256GB 530MB/s 445 MB/s SATA 6 Gbits/s
SanDisk Extreme 240GB 550MB/s 520MB/s SATA 6 Gbits/s

Should bought the Extreme 240 at $169 awhile back.

Reasons for the Extreme:
- faster
- toggle NAND (vs MLC NAND)

Reasons for the Ultra Plus:
- thinner (7mm vs 9.5mm on Extreme)
- ridiculously thinner if you disassemble it, can be used in niche applications
- slighly bigger size (256 vs 240)
