Sandisk & U3 Software issue.

A friend of mine dropped me a email about his thumb drive and U3 software not working well on one of his computers. Does this ring a bell to any of you to why he is having these issues?

I just have a Sandisk 4.0GB USB pin drive thingy (model SDCZ6) and it apparently has some software or driver (???) called ''U3". Anyways, the device works very well on the computer that is at the my work but it will not work the same on my computer at home. My computer here at my house is the same machine I used to have at my shop in WA. and often times it will not recognize the device and it never will allow me to use the "U3" software features even though it works perfect on the computer at my shop. Additionally, I can not retrieve videos off the USB device thingy when using the computer at my house but I can view them on the computer at the shop. Every time I try to watch a video that has been stored onto the USB drive I get this error "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."
