Can't find any info on this drive. The 128GB version is so cheap I'm very tempted top get one for my secondary rig. Anybody know what kid of controller it uses? If it's Sandforce, then I guess I'll skip it.

I think it uses SanDisk's own controller, the same one that is found in U100. The U100 is one of the slowest recent SSDs I've encountered, so I would seriously avoid it.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll look for other SSDs instead.

pretty sure the cheap SanDisk Extreme SSDs out there have Sandforce controllers in them

there are worse controllers to have than the u100

Not trusty. One of the cheaper SSDs is sandisk with cheap controller. I had a friend he got a 256GB SandDisk new ones.. it stopped working he RMA and the one he got back looked used,,,, it worked,, then died,,,,, he sent that back, haven't talked to him since.

This gen they might have their act together, but I will not ever trust sandisk. gl

If you look for alternatives, maybe you take a look at samsungs 830. Its a pretty decent and reliable drive and affordable.
