lxskllr's method below works if you are running into the same situation. Big thanks to all of you contributing to this post!

I need to get this to work as a drive instead of a device so I can create an image of it to look at something else. I have Win98SE, 2000, XP, and Vista machines and so far the XP and Vista does not help much. So long as I can get it to be recognized as a drive, I'm cool with what I will do with it. The unit only shows up as a device which I can see all the folders, but I will need it as a drive. Tried Vista and XP and they are both showing as a device unit, but I need it as a drive so I can do a sector image of the flash memory. Any tips will be greatly appreciated!

You'll likely need a hack to get around the MP3 player from reporting to windows that its an MP3 player.

Thanks, I would like to hear other opinions first cause doing so may be a one way trip and I need to look at something that had been deleted. So long as I can get a clean image of it, I can do the rest of my work. Any other suggestions?

Great! It works and I'm imaging the unit now. If I find what I need, I owe you a big one!
