Sandisk Sansa c150 or c250: Anyone Have personal Experience with Either?

I have dome quite a bit of research on MP3s and I like what SanDisk has to offer. Many owners who gave their personal reviews online recommend either model highly. Since this is my first MP3 I am not looking to break the bank nor do I need all the bells and whistles, thus, my choices.

However, I still would like some direct feedback from owners on this forum and tell me what they think/have experienced. Thanks.

Go for the e200 series, i purchased on as a gift and that things is really nice. Supports all kinds of files, including video, and even has an FM radio and photo storage.

The only gripe people seems to have against it is the plastic scroll wheel, but it's not too tacky. Nonetheless, the design is excellent and very scratch proof. IMO it offers so much more than an ipod nano for a much better price.

rockinacoustic, thanks tons for the reply. I'll seriously look into the e200 series. Can you tell me...

1. USB charging only at this time or is there a charger I can purchase?

2. Is the battery able to be switched out?

3. How is the software?

4. Can one make various listings of songs, i.e., A Jazz list, and rock list, etc.?

Any other information will be most appreciated.

I haven't much experience with the sansa, as i bought it as a gift. So unfortunately I can't answer all of your questions based on my personal experience.

As far as i know they have, or will have an A/C adapter as an accessory, it is not included in the package, only USB charging. Yes the battery is removable, much the way a cell phone's is. As for the software I cannot comment, though the person i gave it to hasn't had any complaints since she received it. (She loves the blue light on the scroll wheel too 😀)

I got most of my info from this review and i think it will help you as well. Good luck!

I got the c250 for the ol' lady after doing several weeks of research and in-store fondling. It seems to be a great little unit for the money. It's BASICALLY the same as the e200 series but without the video stuff and maybe a little more cheaply built. Of course, it's smaller. My criteria were UMS compliant, color screen, FM tuner, 2gb+ internally and expansion slot for <$100.

I bought a cheap 1gb MicroSD/TF card to go with it so she should be set.
All of the Sandisk Sansas are USB charging only, at least out of the box. I think they sell travel and/or auto chargers for 'em though.

With the strong line of Sansas out now there's no way I'd pay more for a Nano!

I looked into the Sandisk players when I bought my first MP3 player. A bunch of customer reviews seemed to suggest that Sandisk players have a tendency to freeze. I got a Creative Muvo 1 GB in the end and it's a very stable and easy to use player.

Yeah, Anythingbutipod.com is a great place. I found it in December after I posted. I eventually settled on Cowon's iAudio G3 2 GB model. Excellent sound quality.

1. USB charging only at this time or is there a charger I can purchase? There are third party chargers and an upcoming SanDisk dock.

2. Is the battery able to be switched out? Yes

3. How is the software? You can just drag and drop your mp3s

4. Can one make various listings of songs, i.e., A Jazz list, and rock list, etc.? Yes

Any other information will be most appreciated.
Also add, it does tend to freeze, but only when very low on battery, at least in my experience.
