Sandisk Cruzer Micro causes WMP to crash

Very frustrating. If I try to fire up WMP whenever the SanDisk Cruzer Micro 2GB is attached to my box, WMP crashes within seconds. If WMP is running and I attach it, WMP crashes. Seems like other people have reported the issue in the Microsoft newsgroups but I don't see much in terms of followup. Anyone experience this before? Running Vista Business.
