SanDisk Cruzer Micro 1GB with U3 software

The stupid light goes on and then off and then on and then off. With my 256mb version's light would constantly stay on when plugged in unless data was being transferred to or from the drive. Is this normal or defective?

Yeah there is a Uninstaller that is floating around the net. Google it and it comes up, however I tried it and it did not work for me. So I just took mine back to a different Best Buy and exchanged it for the older version sans the U3 crap.

Believe it or not the U3 uninstaller was made by Sandisk for the "GeekSquad" at Best Buy.

U3 seems pointless to me... whatever it does can be easily done with scripts and launchers, I would imagine, and wouldn't require special software on the stick.

Take the drive to your local Geek Squad and ask them to remove U3. They should do it for free, we do at our shop. U3 is some annoying sh*t.

It launches when you plug in the flash drive. It usually has some applications installed on the drive, and semi acts as a CD player. I didn't mess with it enough really. Its useless is all you need to know.
