This is thee Titanium version which is typically twice more $$.

I still have the original version of the titanium sandisk. All the paint is worn off & it still works great. transfer is not blazing-fast, around 10mb/s (more/less for read/write). typically, these things break or fail within a period of time but this thing has had 4x/wk use for going on a couple years (if you carry data you dont want to lose, don't buy a sandisk micro or other cheapo solution). I'm considering getting this just to go 512mb --> 2gb...

The cruzers are great. Pretty fast, and the retractable USB is just plain HOT. I love mine (have the 1GB version)

Staples has the 2GB Cruzer (not Titanium) for $24.98 and the 4GB (not Titanium) for $49.98 this week.

I think you're seeing the regular Cruzer. The Titanium Cruzer 2gb is $70.00 at Staples.Com.
