Sandforce FW: flash a different vendor's FW?

Short story: Both ADATA and Kingston have OEM FW for their Sandforce-based SSDs that are far newer than the supposedly "slightly-custom" FW that OCZ used for their Sandforce Vertex3.

Does anybody know if you can flash a different vendor's newer FW to another? I don't think the Windows flasher would work but the Linux one might...
 
There's a very good chance that if it did work, you'd brick the drive, unless it was literally the same product rebranded. Even integrators of SF controllers have a bunch of custom parameters set in the firmware, and quite likely some of them relate to how to use their specific flash chips.
