Sandboxie sold

While odds are against it, they could also make it better. Does Invincea have a history of wrecking products?

Invincea is a pretty decent product and does a good job of keeping employees out of harms way. I hope they continue the development of sandboxie for home users and keep a free version.

For the time being, you don't really have to upgrade to the latest version. I'm still on v3.76 which is excellent on Windows 7. The recent v4.x is mostly for architectural changes to support Windows 8. Time will tell whether Invincea will bloat it or not. I'm more concerned about new bugs that might let apps escape the sandbox.

i really want to buy this! cant believe it is $15 annually.
i would rather pay $30 for lifetime or something.

is there really an alternative to sandboxie? im hesitant to install a virtual machine instead of something so simple as sandboxie

It use to be lifetime for around $40 you missed it.

I purchased a license for $21 during a 50% off sale a few years ago.

Is this still good software?
Yes. I've been using it for years and won't surf without using Sandboxie.

I have to use the beta version (which is stable) because I was getting a BSOD in Windows 8 using a limited user account. I believe tzuk finally fixed the issue in beta version 4.7.04.se

See here for possible alternatives. http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=357642

I also play around with Shadow Defender which is a light virtualization app. It can virtualize whole partitions so it is somewhat different. You can click to enable protection immediately and when you're finished with a session you just reboot to restore your partition. Its main issue is the developer disappears from time to time 🙄.

thanks for the suggestion of alternatives!
im trying out Sirrix's Browser in the Box. looks like a german company and they using Oracle's VM.
