You may have heard about this game before but it is recently had its graphics and UI revamped and is much more friendly to play.

It's primarily a sandbox crafting mmo in a 3d isometric perspective set during the period of settling the New World. You study objects you collect and craft to raise proficiencies and learn skills which leads to being able to build better stuff, make better food, shelter, defenses etc.

IT also has PvP with permadeath which is an aspect I am not a fan of, however it is pretty hard to get killed in the game as murder is only done after acquiring a very difficult skill and if someone else got evidence of the murder they can hunt down the murderer and try to bring them to justice. Personally after all my time playing the game I have never gotten killed and never even gotten involved in a PvP fight. I just mind my business in a remote area doing my farming and leather tanning and blacksmithing and so on :)

The game does have a sharp learning curve particularly how gluttony works (which is the system in which you increase your character's stats) and also the proficiency/skill system. Highly advise to read up before jumping in.

If you do try it - drop me a line (PM me) and maybe we can work together try to establish our own anandtech village deep in the remote part of the world or something

It is currently in open beta

I play on the Roanoke server

Been playing it for a few months now here's my honest opinion.

Graphics suck
Game play sucks
Buggy/Glitchy
Not fun
Complicated
Great idea terribly executed.

That sounds interesting to me so maybe I'll check this out. I remember hearing about this awhile back and thinking the clue/murder system could be really awesome if they got it to work right.
