This is a YMMV, I never got a smooth shave going with the grain, and going against the grain didn't seem to cause me any problems, so that's what I did. I was also never a particularly hirsute individual, and didn't need to shave more than once a week until I was in my 30s (and made it up to twice a week!)

Another few laser treatment sessions and maybe I'll be done with face shaving altogether! :cool:

This was the technique shown to me by the pro barbers at Art of Shaving at their store in Troy Mi :) As you get older, your follicles will naturally begin to stick out more, and you'll start cutting them...which is what razor burn is. The oil pretreatment is supposed to help with that.
