Yup, just like the title says. I was scrambling to find a place to get a flu shot for my kid and me. When he gets the flu he heats up to like 104 and above. Sometimes, he gets so hot, he goes into seizures. So the flu shot will help him. Unfortunately, our doctor's all out of the flu vaccines. Called couple of other places and they were out too. SO, I called the Flu-shot hotline for our county and guess what. The recorded message basically says (paraphrased): our county is giving priority to Hispanics and elders before anyone else. (I've listed the hotline so you can call and hear the message for yourself).
But WTF is that all about. Now I have to worry about my kid getting sick because hispanics have a priority over us? Its fine to argue that everyone should be considered equal but NO ONE should be given priority when it comes to something like this. Flu shots are in short supply this year, but we have to wait and let them take all the flu shots first then we'll get what's left, if any? WTF!!! I'm not against someone being hispanic, but its just wrong to give priority to one group like that. I'd be against it if they decided to give preferences to any other group, be it blacks, whites, Asians or whatever. (Disclaimer: Not racially motivated, just County official with head up @ss doing stupid things motivated!)
